What is DEA ?

PIM DEAsoft has two hard-to-beat features: It has an extensive range of the most up-to-date DEA models and it can handle large data sets limited only by the capacity of your computer.

You can use PIM DEAsoft-V2 to:

  • Assess units under constant or variable returns to scale;
  • Assess units under non-increasing or non-decreasing returns to scale;
  • Assess units under restrictions on the input/ output weights;
  • Assess units under restrictions on the product of input/ output weights and corresponding input/output level, the restriction applying either only to the unit assessed or to all units;
  • Estimate performance targets with varying priorities over the improvement of inputs/outputs;
  • Assess units when some variables are exogenously fixed and returns to scale are variable;
  • Assess the super efficiency of units, including automated identification of units above a user-specified threshold, removal and re-assessment of the remaining units;
  • Identify whether increasing, constant or decreasing returns to scale hold locally for units efficient under variable returns to scale;
  • Compute Malmquist productivity indices and their decomposition into boundary shift and efficiency catch-up.
  • Compute cross-efficiency matrices using optimal weights of selected units to compute the efficiencies of other selected units;
  • Use of categorical variables to select subsets of units to be assessed by a given DEA model in batch mode;
  • Multiple DEA models can be set up, involving different input/outputs from a global data set to be executed in batch mode.
  • and much more....

With PIM DEAsoft-V2 you can produce a variety of results including:

  • Tables of efficiencies;
  • Tables of Pareto efficient input-output levels for units;
  • Tables of efficient peer units for each inefficient unit;
  • Tables of input/output weights;
  • Summary statistics (mean, variance, max, min etc) of efficiencies;

All reported results can be:

  • Placed directly in "Excel" or in tab delimited text files;
  • Can be sorted alpha-numerically;
  • Can be for a selected unit or for all units.
